“Springtime & Summertime Serenity: Discovering the Charms of Puerto Vallarta”
Spring & Summer brings a fresh energy to the coastal town of Puerto Vallarta, just be ready to handle more heat than we are used to from Canada. The temps can be around 25-35 Celsius in May before the rainy season begins and then jump to the mid 30’s Celsius from June-September or even higher with high humidity levels making it feel even hotter. If this is a time that you choose to travel just be sure to stay hydrated and take breaks indoors or in the shade from the sun and extreme heat.
Exploring Puerto Vallarta
One of the interesting aspects of Puerto Vallarta at this time of year is its natural beauty. From the colourful flowers, lush grass & trees to the cobblestone streets that are full of so many wonderful things happening. After the dry winter season everything begins to come alive with the rain and humidity in the air. This is typically a quieter time to travel to Puerto Vallarta, making it that much more peaceful for those of you in search of a more serene getaway.
With the weather being so hot and humid we encourage our travellers at this time of year to explore the surrounding areas of Puerto Vallarta. A little time in a taxi to cool off from one place to the next won’t hurt! Head to a beach such as Playa Los Muertos or the secluded coves of Conchas Chinas, grab a bite to eat and enjoy a little shopping. If you decide to go for a swim just be aware that this time of year compared to the winter can be a little rougher in the sea with stronger currents. You might also enjoy some time right in towns rather than just at the beach such a Sayulita where you can join a yoga class, get a massage or visit the local boutiques.
Immersing Yourself in Culture
The best part about travelling is having the opportunity to get a feel for what life is like in the city, town or village you are visiting. The easiest way to do this is to attend a local festivity that is going on, shop at the local markets, find a hidden restaurant that the locals have told you about, chat with the locals whenever you have the opportunity, take a cooking class or visit museums and art galleries.
Adventure
If you happen to be a thrill-seeker and nature lover you are in the right place. There is always an opportunity while in Puerto Vallarta to find adrenaline-pumping activities like zip-lining through the jungle, ATV tours in the Sierra Madre mountains, or whale watching in the Bay of Banderas. Your local resort will be able to connect you with the best companies for these adventures. You will want to stay away from anyone offering tours to you while you are out and about, this can be a little less than ideal!
As you can see there really isn’t a bad time to take an All Inclusive vacation to Mexico, you will just want to adjust the way you do things. Rather than long days at the resort and laying in the sun for hours you will want to move around which makes the spring and summer the ideal time to take this kind of vacation. The perk that you will find are not only less crowds, you will also get some of the best prices of the year.
Puerto Vallarta is nice all year. Just remember if you go in September it is humid and hot, bring more changes of clothes, T shirts, shorts, bikinis. Always sweating, always changing . Enjoy!
Great advice!
