“Love You More: Nurturing Parenthood, Embracing Balance”
I’ve been wanting to share something that I started writing around the beginning of 2023 that means so much to me. Although we are primarily a Travel Page, the heart of our business is family and taking time to simply enjoy life whether you are away on a wonderful vacation or at home living your regular life. I’m excited to share my first few entries with you, I hope they support you with a full week of messages that allow you breathe and create your own balance.
Message #1
In life we seldom think about where we’ve been, we are so often living in the moment or looking ahead at where we are going. This is a good thing; however it is important to recognize our path, all of the different directions we’ve gone, choices we’ve made, the wins, the losses, the laughter and the tears. We are where we are because of everything in our lives that have led to this exact moment.
Reflect back, take a deep breath, close your eyes and then exhale all of the thoughts that come to the surface. Release them and appreciate yourself fully. You are here, you are loved and you are amazing.

Love is love and that is it. Once you feel love for someone close to you there is no comparison between the love you have from one to another. There is no I love her more or him more because, we simply just love. In life there are times that we feel like we aren’t enough and we question if those around us might feel that way about us too. This is when we must focus outward and build our confidence by doing good things for others and ourselves. The result of finding greatness around us is a gentle reminder that there is an abundance of love within us that can’t be touched.

Our health & well-being is something we seem to easily set to the side when we become busy with our daily lives. Something so basic and foundational, yet so ignored. Our body is such a miracle when we think of everything it is doing for us on its own. Imagine if we took an hour out of the 24 we are given each day to simply show some appreciation by flooding it with nutrients, hydrating, movement, deep breathing, positive thoughts and words of encouragement.
We get a choice, choose to give back to the amazing body that is giving to you daily without asking for anything in return.

Families will often find themselves in a season of working hard with less time for play and more time for focus. It can be a challenging balance to learn when to take a break and when to keep going. As a parent a common feeling I have is feeling bad for my kids when I see them pushing and getting tired, I want to make it easier or better for them. I have to remind myself to talk to them about finding their balance through eating nourishing food, movement, sleep and finding time for taking a break to simply be present with themselves or loved ones. As I teach them these life skills I have to remind myself to do them too. There is no one that lives the exact same life as each of us do, it’s up to us to create habits that support us through seasons of hard work. Rather than waiting for things to get easier, create ways to make life feel good right now. The slower seasons will come.

Reaching the end of a busy week always feels so good, even if you work on the weekend or you are busy with kids or other responsibilities. There is something about Fridays that I can’t quite put into words, it’s more of a feeling that is so unique to each week. Take time each Friday to reflect on all that you have accomplished and then allow yourself to be present in the day.

If you’ve had a week or a season that has been hard, challenging and exhausting remember that you may have just accomplished something that you never imagined you could have done and here you are!
The long, challenging and unknown experiences are often the ones that stretch us the most and leave us feeling so full of gratitude when they are done. Never forget how capable you are.

Sometimes we need a break from our daily routine. Get out in the fresh air, breathe it in, see new things and push for more. Our world expands when we ask for it to. When you have the opportunity, take it!
