“Unlocking Family Fun: Simplifying All-Inclusive Adventures in Mexico with Kids”

Heading to Mexico for the week or longer as a family is always an exciting adventure. As parents our biggest focus is the vacation going as smooth as possible and everyone being happy.

We have our list of questions that we want to feel good about prior to making our final decision on where to go. Will there be enough to do? Will the kids be happy? Does the resort have a nice variety of food, especially kid friendly options? Is the resort clean? Is it in a safe location? That’s where the beauty of all-inclusive resorts comes in and our expertise at Sierra Travel Sylvan Lake.

So grab a cup of coffee and let’s explore how to turn your family getaway into an unforgettable experience for all. Let’s get going!

Let me begin with saying that there is no perfect resort, however we do our best to find something that will offer a wonderful experience and years of happy memories. From our experience as parents, some of our best memories were doing the simple things like building sandcastles, pulling our kids around in their floaties in the pools (our Marissa loved her ducky), watching them become amazing little swimmers as they got older over our week in Mexico or picking up sea shells along the shore. This is important for us to point out as we know there are so many resorts to choose from that look amazing, we want to remind you not to get too focused on that and focus more on what looks like it will be the best fit for your family.

The first step in choosing the resort that you want is to ask yourself what you need the most from it. Are you seeking a resort that has a water park, lazy river, kids pool, indoor kids space, beaches to build epic sandcastles and entertainment that will be fun for little ones? Do you need a large room for your family or are you ok with a smaller one? Do you like a lush landscape or more of a clean, modern look? Do you want to stay at a large resort or will a smaller one be better for you? These questions will narrow it down quickly.

How close do you want to be from the airport? We know that most of the resorts that families love can be quite far out but there are some that are closer than others. Another thing to consider is to have us book private transfers to speed this up a little. Just keep in mind that the transfers are free with your package, however some of our guests choose to pay for this upgrade. Typically it is approximately $300 CA roundtrip.

We value the reviews that our own clients leave on our page or privately message us. In the digital age, reviews from those who have visited the resorts mean a lot, especially when we know you. Sometimes we have clients with little ones that will let us know the little details such as how much their kids loved the ice cream, little pools or the music. These things are small but mean a lot to a family!

We hope these few tips will help you with choosing your next destination. Our top picks in Mexico for those of you with little ones after this past travel season has us leaning towards the Ocean Riviera Paradise, Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya, Grand Palladiums (Cancun) and the Riu Dunamar. Of course there are many more, these were just a few that were booked the most and had raving reviews!

Thank you to our clients for sharing pictures with us from their vacations and so many wonderful tips on things they do to keep their kids happy throughout the journey. We love the message that we received today about taking legos and sticker books along, these are not only great for the plane ride but also for the time in the room at the resort. We also think this one on the beach is adorable and really appreciate you allowing us to share them on this blog.

Our next blog will be about traveling with your tweens and teens, this is a whole different experience that might be of interest to some of you who are entering the next stages of family travel. We’ve been there too!
